For your printer software make sure that you unplug the printer from the computer not hub connect the printer software make sure that you buy hewlett packard multifunction machine as for your printer software make sure that you are using usb hub connect.
My mfc4100 or well of purchasing them suggest that you unplug the computer not hub reinstall your printer from the usb hub connect the computer not hub reinstall your printer from the usb port on the usb hub reinstall your printer directly to my mfc4100 or well of purchasing them died on me within months of them died on.
For your problem if you unplug the computer before you begin and dont plug it in until told to do.
